Euro 2020: England suffers major setback as key player pulls out of squad

England has suffered a major setback ahead of their Euro 2020 clash against Scotland on Friday night.

England goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, pulled out of the team’s squad due to injury.

The Manchester United star is now replaced by Sheffield United keeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

“Aaron Ramsdale has replaced Dean Henderson in England’s UEFA Euro 2020 squad,” an FA statement read in part.

“Henderson withdrew with a hip issue that would continue to limit his involvement in training throughout the tournament.

“The Manchester United goalkeeper will now return to his club for further assessment and rehabilitation ahead of the 2021/22 season.”

England are in Group D alongside Czech Republic, Croatia and Scotland.

Gareth Southgate’s side won their first game 1-0 against Croatia.
