EPL: David Seaman slams Arsenal over Aaron Ramsdale’s signing

David Seaman has slammed Arsenal’s transfer strategy after the club completed the signing of Sheffield United goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

The former Gunners’ goalkeeper questioned the club’s decision to spend so much on Ramsdale when Emi Martinez was sold for considerably less last summer.

Arsenal is set to announce the £30 million capture of Ramsdale from Sheffield United imminently.

Seaman questioned Arsenal’s recent approach to transfers having let the excellent Martinez leave for £17m just a year ago.

Taking aim at Arsenal’s transfer strategy, Seaman continued: “It’s so frustrating, especially the Martinez one,” he told talkSPORT.

“When you have paid that much money for a goalkeeper and you’ve let a really good one go.

“Joe Willock went to Newcastle and had a great loan spell and had the chance of keeping him, but why did they let him go?

“I just don’t know and you look at what is out there you think he is better than them.”
