EPL: Brendan Rodgers ‘agrees’ to replace Solskjaer as Man Utd manager

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers, has reached a verbal agreement to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United’s manager, according to Caught Offside.

Solskjaer’s position remains up in the air, especially after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League.

In their last home game before then, the Red Devils were demolished 5-0 by Liverpool.

It is now understood that United’s senior officials are ready to make a change and have spoken to Rodgers.

Rodgers has verbally agreed to a deal, but there are still hurdles to overcome before a deal is completed.

Although United want to hire Rodgers now, his preference is to wait until the end of the campaign.

Discussions are said to be continuing to try and come to an agreement.

A source close to the deal said: “Brendan Rodgers to Manchester United…he’s agreed to it, there’s just question marks over when he’ll take over. That could be at the end of the season, which he would prefer, but United are pushing for now.”
