Former Palace chief names Premier League’s most important signing this season

Former Crystal Palace chief, Simon Jordan, has said that Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku will be the most important Premier League signing this summer.

The former Palace owner also predicted that the Belgian will score not less than 30 goals this summer.

He said this while commenting on one of the most hectic transfer windows in recent years.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United was officially confirmed earlier today while England midfielder Jack Grealish broke the Premier League’s transfer record this summer when he swapped Aston Villa for Manchester City for £100million.

Lukaku took second place on that list with his £97million move back to Chelsea from Inter Milan.

But when asked who he thinks will make the biggest difference in the Premier League this season, he told talkSPORT “Lukaku.

“Lukaku playing in a Chelsea side that I admire.

“I’m not a huge fan of Chelsea, I’m a London club supporter and it’s not Chelsea so I don’t sit there in awe of Chelsea, but I admire [Thomas] Tuchel, I think he embodies everything that a manager should be.

“I think that his team is quite formidable and I think Lukaku being put in that side will score 30 plus goals this season.”

The former Everton, Manchester United and Inter Milan star has already opened his Premier League account with a strike against Arsenal on match day two of the season.
