E. Dewey Smith Uses Proceeds From New Holiday Single To Benefit Victims of Sex Trafficking

Atlanta pastor, philanthropist, and now recording artist, E. Dewey Smith has just released a new holiday EP, Let Praises Ring, and doing it to better the lives of victims of sex trafficking. The lead single and title track, “Let Praises Ring”, is a beautiful lullaby meant to bring warmth and light to families around the world. Through the lyrics he tells the story of the birth of Christ and gently reminds people that may be facing sadness during the holidays, “Christmas is about God’s son”.

Aside from being the pastor of one of the longest established churches in Atlanta (over 140 years old), Greater Traveler’s Rest Baptist Church (also known as The House of Hope),  Smith has always kept giving as the forefront of his ministry.

In an effort to save girls from this environment, Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Decatur, started the Tabitha’s House initiative. The initiative was a vision of the Smith’s, who wanted the church to provide a place of “rest, safety and comfort that empowers supports and protects young females who have been victimized through sex trafficking,” according to the church’s website. “Our main goal is to make a difference,” said Margie Gill, who is the executive director for Tabitha’s House, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. “We have to stop this atrocity that’s happening in our own backyards.”

“Let Praises Ring” is currently available on edeweysmith.org and all streaming platforms.
