Minister Theophilus Sunday was born in Dekina, Kogi State, Nigeria. He grew up in Kogi State and after the completion of his primary school education, he enrolled at the Ochaja Boys Secondary School, Ochaja, Kogi State for his Senior School Certificate Examinations.

He thereafter proceeded to the Kogi State University (KSU), Anyigba, where he obtained a degree in Theatre Arts. Upon his graduation from the university in the 2011/2012 academic session, Minister Theophilus Sunday enrolled for the National Youth Service Programme (NYSC) on 5th November 2012. He completed the NYSC scheme service year on October 10th 2013.
Minister Theophilus Sunday is one of the many renowned gospel ministers and artistes in Nigeria. Like many other gospel ministers, he is known in Christendom for the impacts his songs have made in the lives of people.
