ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): JEREMIAH 8:22; EXODUS 23:25-26
MESSAGE TOPIC: KINGDOM SERVICE AND DIVINE HEALTH (1-3)
BY: DR. PAUL ENENCHE

SERVICE OBJECTIVE(S):

  1. Understanding the relationship between Kingdom service and Divine Health
  2. Understanding the way in which Kingdom service produces Divine Health
  3. Understanding how to serve effectively

Throughout Scripture it is made very clear that there is a very strong relationship between serving God and living in strength and health
Throughout Scripture the connection has been established between serving God and being serviced by God

There is a relationship of direct proportionality between Kingdom service and Divine health
SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF THE CONNECTION BETWEEN KINGDOM SERVICE AND DIVINE HEALTH:

  1. Abraham was officially called the servant of the Lord (Ps. 105:6, 42; Gen. 14:14-17; 22:1-4, 9; 23:1-2; 25:2, 7-8)
WHAT WAS THE STRENGTH OF ABRAHAM?
1a. Abraham went into battle at almost the age of 100 and defeated the armies of five nations (Gen. 14:14-17)
1b. Abraham undertook a three-day mountain expedition on God’s instruction 1t the age of almost 120, when it was time to sacrifice Isaac (Gen. 22:1-4)
1c. Abraham had enough strength to prepare an altar and bound his son himself (Gen. 22:9)
1d. After Sarah’s death Abraham remarried at almost 140years and had six more sons (Gen. 23:1-2; 25:2)
1e. Abraham died in good old age, sickless and energetic. (Gen. 25:7-8)
  2. Moses was a notable servant of the Lord (Ex. 14:31; Num. 12:7; Ex. 33:11; Deut. 34:7)
WHAT WAS THE STRENGTH OF MOSES?
2a. Moses carried the burden of the most rebellious congregation in the history of the world (Ex. 18:17-18)
2b. Moses crisscrossed the length and breadth of the wilderness with the children of Israel
    for 40years without wearing out
2c. Everyone who was the contemporary of Moses died and faded away in the wilderness except Joshua and Caleb (Num. 14:28-30)
  3. David was officially called the servant of the Lord (Ps. 89:20, 3; 78:70; 1Chron. 29:28)
WHAT WAS THE STRENGTH OF DAVID?
3a. David probably faced more hazards and dangers than anybody else in the Old Testament
and yet survived unscratched (1Sam. 17:34)
3b. David faced more conspiracies and hostilities than probably anybody else in the Old testament (Ps. 27:10)
3c. David probably fought more battles than anyone else in the Old Testament

HOW DOES KINGDOM SERVICE BRING ABOUT DIVINE HEALTH?

  1. Divine health is a Kingdom health insurance policy for Kingdom labourers (John 15:2; Mal. 3:17)
As long as you are fruit-bearing branch, God is committed to your health.
To serve the Lord is to be serviced by the Lord
  2. Divine health is a Covenant benefit of the Kingdom service Covenant (Ex. 23:25; Num. 23:19; 1Sam. 15:29; Ps. 89:34-35; Jer. 33:20-21)
Kingdom service is not just an activity fuelled by zeal, it is a covenant practice with proven covenant benefits.
It is your duty to serve and it is God’s duty to take sickness away from the midst of you (Ex. 23:25)
Any day you wake up in the morning and the sun is still in the sky then know that what God said will surely come to pass (Jer. 33:20-21)
For as long as you are still marching the earth beneath you, if seed is released there must be harvest
Seed sowing is a prolonger of life; if you have sown seed, you must remain to receive the harvest.
If the earth is still carrying your weight, and the sun is still rising, then what God said is valid.
  3. Kingdom service attracts the release of the Anointing on Kingdom servants (Ps. 89:20)
When God can find a servant, He will pour the Oil
    THE IMPLICATION OF THE ANOINTING:
3a. The Anointing destroys yokes and lifts burdens (Isa. 10:27)
3b. The Anointing releases healing virtue into the body of the anointed (Acts 10:38)
3c. The Anointing attracts the Presence of God (Acts 10:38)

WHAT KIND OF KINGDOM SERVICE DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?

  1. The service of the Sanctuary (Ex. 36:1; 1Chron. 23:24; Num. 3:31; Ps. 84:10)
The service of the sanctuary entails – sanctuary keepers, ushering, choir, protocol, traffic controllers etc. – everyone involved in making sure people encounter God comfortably as they come is serving in the Sanctuary.
This is where you make your time, energy and abilities available for service in the House of the Lord
  2. The service of prayer (Luke 2:36-37; Matt. 6:9-10; Acts 6:4; 1Sam. 12:23)
This is committing yourself to praying for the establishment of God’s purpose on the earth
Praying and fasting for the Kingdom is a Kingdom service, and it has a Kingdom Divine health insurance policy
Praying just for your needs is the kindergarten level of existence
  3. The service of soul-winning (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:15-18; John 15:16)
When you do the things that touch the heart of God, you don’t need to beg God to do the things that touch you.
The service of soul-winning is a service that will change your life
Your life must touch, change and liberate someone in order for God to be interested in your own life.
Let someone’s salvation be traceable to your salvation
  4. The service of worship (1Chron. 6:31; 1Pet. 2:9; Ps. 100:2; 150:6; 1Chron. 25:6; Isa. 43:21)
Scriptures calls it the service of song (1Chron. 6:31)
In your closet and in your personal life, you can do the service of worship.
There is always a reason to praise and celebrate God
  5. The service of giving (Ps. 22:30; 2Cor. 8:3-5; Phil. 4:15-19)
    Your giving is a service
There is no love without giving; nobody can genuinely love and not give.
Show me the extent of your giving and I will show you the extent of your service to God
Your giving is a Kingdom service; seed serves (Ps. 22:30)
A major purpose of resources is the push of the Gospel (Zech. 1:17)

HOW DO YOU SERVE GOD EFFECTIVELY AND PRODUCTIVELY?

  1. Serve with faith and understanding (Heb. 11:6; 1Cor. 15:58)
Serve with the understanding that you are not being used by God but that you are serving for your own benefit
Serve with the revelation that your service to God is not in vain
  2. Serve heartily and passionately (Rom. 12:11; Eph. 6:5-6; Jer. 48:10a)
Serve with the understanding that you are not being used by God but that you are serving for your own benefit
  3. Serve excitedly and enthusiastically (Deut. 28:47-48; 1Sam. 2:3; Mal. 3:14)
God does not just see what you do, He sees why you do it.
  4. Serve uprightly and reverentially (Heb. 12:28-29; Isa. 52:11b; Rom. 12:1-2)
It is upright service that is reasonable service (Rom. 12:1-2)
  5. Serve selflessly and in humility (Acts 20:17-18; John 3:30)
Humble yourself under God and He will in due season lift you up
We need humility, integrity and authenticity
