Chelsea vs Villarreal: UEFA confirms venue, date for Super Cup tie

UEFA has confirmed the venue, date and kick-off time for this year’s Super Cup final clash between Chelsea and Villarreal.

The Super Cup is played annually between the Champions League and Europa League winners.

Chelsea defeated Manchester City to win the Champions League last month, while Villarreal defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final.

Chelsea’s clash with Villarreal was supposed to be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, but after Istanbul could not host the Champions League final for a second successive year due to the COVID-19 restrictions, there were reports they would be handed the Super Cup.
