TOPIC: You Need Wisdom To Fight (TREM Devotional 29 November 2021)
“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5 KJV
The reason we gather together as children of God and get involved in activities and different things is not just for rituals or religious exercise. No! There are different gatherings all over the world but when it is a spiritual gathering, we gather to be impacted with divine wisdom to fight the good fight of faith. You can acquire knowledge from anywhere: from the schools, the newspapers or the social media, but if you truly want divine wisdom, you can only get that from the Word of God. If there was a day and time we needed more of God’s wisdom, it is today. But I can guarantee you that the enemy will do all within his power to ensure that you walk blindly in ignorance.
There are many today who are looking, but they are not seeing anything. The devil doesn’t mind you getting involved in different types of activities other than the real thing that will make you versatile, strong and able to stand against him at every given time. One thing I know is that when the chips are down, you will stand there alone with the devil and fight your battle. Yes, God has blessed us with spiritual things, but they will never fall on you like bag of cherries.
As long as we live, we are in a warfare on earth. Jesus said in John 16:33, “These things have I spoken to you, that in me ye might have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (KJV). In Christ, you have peace. However, though you have peace in Him, He already warned you that in the world, you will have tribulation. But the good news is that we are fighting from victory and not for victory.
Beloved, we are fighting the good fight of faith and you are engaged already. Enough of this indifference and lukewarmness! You cannot defeat the enemy with lukewarness. You must keep the fire burning.
