“And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto Him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And He answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” Luke 19:39-40 (KJV)

Whenever you are giving your all to God, there will always be people who will oppose you. Don’t ever be surprised when that happens. They want to hinder, frustrate and discourage you. They may even tell you that you are trying to show off. One thing I settled in my spirit long ago is that: when it comes to relationship with God, no one saved me except Jesus. Therefore, I cannot apologize to anyone about my commitment to Him. If my love, my zeal, commitment and my tenacity for Him offends you, that is where we draw the line.

The way I love Him and the way I commit to Him is not the business of anyone. I always remember that when I was nothing, He picked me from nowhere, saved me and set my feet on the rock to stay. So why should I apologize to anyone about my commitment to Him? If you don’t like it, please excuse me. Let me go the other way. I love Jesus and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Look at the answer Jesus gave the Pharisees in Luke 19:40: “…if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.” Beloved, whatever you do in the kingdom for the Lord is really not for Him. It is not to validate who He is. Even without you, He is God already. Have you not read that in the beginning, God made the heaven and the earth? In the beginning, God! Not you. He is the one that has no beginning because He created the beginning. So when the scripture tells us to live for God, to commit to Him, to be zealous about Him, to be givers and tithers, it is not really to validate Him. Rather, it is for your own good.
