TOPIC: Acceptable Ways Of Serving God (Seeds Of Destiny 18 September 2021)
Your service to God must be done with your heart and your soul if it must be acceptable before Him.
SCRIPTURE: But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. Joshua 22:5.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your service to God must be done with your heart and your soul if it must be acceptable before Him.
It is established that we have been saved to serve God. However, not every service is acceptable before God. There is a way to serve God acceptably. In our study today, we shall look at acceptable ways of serving God.

- Service must be done heartily and lovingly
Joshua 22:5 says,
But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord charged you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Your service to God must be done with your heart and your soul if it must be acceptable before Him.
You must serve Him with a perfect heart not with a divided mind (1 Chronicles 28:9).
- Service must be done willingly
You must not be forced or compelled to serve God.
1 Chronicles 28:9 says,
And thou Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts and understandeth all imaginations of the thought, if thou seek him he will be found of thee, but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off forever.
Refuse to serve God under duress or by compulsion; serve God willingly.
You know, the giving of our resources is part of our service to God. And giving is to be done willingly. Anything you do under pressure does not attract rewards from heaven. Anything you do as if you are doing God or church a favour does not attract any reward from heaven.
Beloved, determine to serve God willingly, heartily and lovingly.
Remember this: Your service to God must be done with your heart and your soul if it must be acceptable before Him.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Make up your mind to serve God with all your heart and in love.
- Refuse to serve God under compulsion.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to serve You with all my heart and soul. Deliver me from serving You unwillingly, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
