MEMORISE: Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Proverbs 22:28

READ: Genesis 18:19

19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 23:1-39 , Exodus 34-36

MESSAGE:

As an adolescent on a journey to self-discovery, there are certain situations that your level of exposure or experience cannot handle but people older than you can guide you through. This also applies when it comes to spiritual matters; when a child of God gets to a crossroads the surest way to go is based on the wisdom of God found in His word and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is practically the oldest book in the world and it forms the bedrock of all books written today to address issues in the family, relationship, career, academic and spiritual matters. Whenever my children ask me questions seeking realistic answers, I tell them there is nothing more real than the Bible. Thus, I always refer them to the word of God and explain it in detail, in relation to the challenge being faced.

My dear child, the Bible is not “old school, neither are your Christian parents. If you obey their instructions, you will never be stranded in life.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, help me to meditate on Your unfailing word and give me the grace to obey it.

HYMN: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD

  1. Standing on the promises
    of Christ, our King,
    Thro’ eternal ages let
    His praises ring;
    Glory in the highest,
    I will shout and sing,
    Standing on the promises of God.

CHORUS
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God, my Saviour;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

  1. Standing on the promises
    that cannot fail.
    When the howling storms of
    doubt and fear assail,
    By the living word of God
    I shall prevail,
    Standing on the promises of God.
  2. Standing on the promises
    I now can see
    Perfect, present cleansing
    in the blood for me;
    Standing in the liberty
    where Christ makes free,
    Standing on the promises of God.
  3. Standing on the promises
    of Christ, the Lord,
    Bound to Him eternally
    by love’s strong cord,
    Overcoming daily with
    the Spirit’s sword,
    Standing on the promises of God.
