READ: John 9:4

4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms 119:105-176, 1 Corinthians 5:1-13

MESSAGE:

A characteristic of a sluggard is mismanagement of time. Someone said time is money but more than that, I know that time is life. Every activity of man is spread within a period of time. At creation, God assigned time to specific tasks. At the end of one week, He listed out all His achievements for each day. If a fellow sets out of his house or hostel without setting goals for the day, he will most likely waste more than 12 hours of his life that day. If you can’t set goals and follow it up with a sense of commitment, you are a time wasting sluggard and as such, God will be displeased.

Another habit of a sluggard is excuse making. He would make excuses based on weather conditions. The sluggard would say, “I can’t go to the lecture hall, the weather is too hot or it is raining, I might catch a cold.” Successful people don’t make excuses. In which area of your life are you making excuses instead of taking actions? Come off every excuse today and do the needful.

KEY POINT:

Wherever an excuse is present, loss is inevitable.

HYMN: LET OTHERS SEE JESUS IN YOU

  1. While passing through this
    world of sin,
    And others your
    life shall view,
    Be clean and pure
    without, within,
    Let others see Jesus in you.

CHORUS
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you;
Keep telling the story,
be faithful and true,
Let others see Jesus in you.

  1. Your life’s a book before
    their eyes,
    They’re reading it through
    and through;
    Say, does it point them to the
    skies,
    Do others see Jesus in you?
  2. What joy ’twill be at set of sun,
    In mansions beyond the blue,
    To find some souls
    that you have won;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
  3. Then live for Christ both
    day and night,
    Be faithful, be brave, and true,
    And lead the lost to life and light;
    Let others see Jesus in you.
