BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Kings 1-4
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Genesis 5:1-24
1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
4 And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:
5 And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
6 And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat Enos:
7 And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters:
8 And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years: and he died.
9 And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:
10 And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:
11 And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five years: and he died.
12 And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:
13 And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:
14 And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years: and he died.
15 And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:
17 And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five years: and he died.
18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and he died.
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

The MESSAGE:
Holiness is an important ingredient that we need to serve God. It is one of the attributes of God and for us to have a solid relationship with Him and demonstrate His power in our generation, holiness is essential in our lives and daily walk. One thing that distinguishes the Almighty God from other gods is holiness. We as children of God, cannot afford not to be holy since we were created in His image. If we want to maintain that image, holiness is a must. God commands His children to be holy (Leviticus 11:44-45; 1 Peter 1:16).

The trademark of a true ambassador of Christ is holiness, not working of miracles or the ability to prophesy. The children of the devil who are not holy also perform all these signs. Enoch was able to walk with God because he was holy. The Bible tells us that God “took him and he was not” (Genesis 5:21-24). Death was unable to touch him because sin was not found in him. The major cause of death is sin. When a man is holy, he will overcome death. The same thing for our Lord Jesus, God did not allow Him to see corruption because He was holy. Death came into the life of man through sin. Holiness will give you power over sin. The best way to conquer death is to conquer sin, and sin can only be conquered though holiness.
Holiness is the gateway to power. No matter how hard we pray and fast, if we are not holy, we cannot receive true power from God. The most anointed children of God are not the greatest fasters. You cannot bribe God with fasting. Fasting is good but it is better and effective when we combine it with prayers and holiness. Good killed the two sons of Aaron; Nadab and Abihu, because they appeared in His presence unholy, although they were priests and had been coming to the presence of God before then (Leviticus 10:1-2).
Holiness is the gateway to blessings. Obadiah 1:17 tells us that the easiest route to breakthroughs is holiness. When we are holy, there will be no need for deliverance, and the kingdom of darkness will not be able to block us from our divine possessions.
The major challenge of our generation is that we have thrown holiness into the dustbin. Herein lies our powerlessness and tragedy of our time. We want power but we do not want to obey the commandments of the Giver of power. We have invented our own rules and regulations which we want God to understand, tolerate and accept. Hebrews 12:14 tells us that except we are holy, we cannot see God.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Every sinful habit in my life, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Arrows of lust fired into my heart, depart, in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Ghost fire, sanctify my soul, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Holy Ghost fire, purge my life and make me pure, in the name of Jesus.
- I refuse to be a servant of sin, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, put Your fear in my heart, in the name of Jesus.
- Thou spirit of holiness, possess me, in the name of Jesus.
