FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 3:15-17
15 And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
17 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

The MESSAGE:
Baptism means you be immersed in something. There are three types of baptism in the Bible namely: water baptism, Holy Ghost baptism and fire baptism – John 3:5.
Fire baptism means to be cleansed or purged with the fire of God, and also to be filled with the fire of God. Fire is the symbol of the power and presence of God (Hebrews 12:29). Baptism of fire also means cleansing of our lives from worldly pleasure. It is to be consumed with the zeal of God’s work.

John the Baptist prophesied that believers will be baptised with fire. It was fulfilled first in the lives of the disciples at the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost. The church was born with fire. This fire must continue to burn till the end of age.
After fire baptism, the timid, doubtful and dejected apostles became courageous (Acts 2:14), powerful (Acts 9:34), miracle workers (Acts 2:43) and they had zero tolerance for sin (Acts 5:5).
This promise is for believers, not for pastors or ministers only. Beloved, it is time to arise and get the fresh fire of God, so that we can demonstrate the power of God to the dying world. This is the time for you and me to pray until we become flames of fire (Hebrews 1:7) and the word of God becomes fire in our bones (Jeremiah 20:9). The world is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.
To be baptised by fire, you must first submit your heart to God in repentance. You must be born again. Then be baptised in water as a sign that you have surrendered your heart to God (Acts 2:38). It is then you can seek God to baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Keep burning for God and as you do so your fire will be increasing.
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Father, incubate me with the fire of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, release Your tongue of fire upon my life and burn away all spiritual filthiness, in the name of Jesus.
- Let every anti-power bondage break in my life, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- Father, make me to hunger and thirst for righteousness, in the name of Jesus.
- Father, let the zeal for Your work overshadow me, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, take me deeper and higher in You, in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, give me victory over the works of the flesh, in the name of Jesus.
