Tottenham have called off plans to hire Antonio Conte as their next manager, following a breakdown in talks.
Spurs have concerns over some of Conte’s demands, which includes a reluctance to work with young players at the club.
According to Sky Italy, Conte also had major doubts about becoming Spurs next head coach and was inclined to turn the offer down.
After considering the role for several days, the Italian is not convinced the North London side were a team ready to win trophies immediately.
The Italian who won Serie A with Inter Milan last season and has won five league titles in the last decade, is looking for another ‘winning project’.
However, Fabio Paratici, who left Juventus in May and worked with Conte between 2011 and 2014, is close to joining Tottenham as their new sporting director.
