Niger State Police Command has announced the suspension of issuance of tinted glass permit and use of spy number plates by unauthorized vehicle users in the state, in an effort to strengthen security.
The state police disclosed this in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, PRO, DSP Wasiu Abiodun.
Abiodun said the move was on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police.
The Command warned vehicle owners and drivers of vehicles to desist from covering number plates of vehicles and unauthorized use of spy number plates in a bid to enhance security in the state.

The statement warned that vehicle owners and drivers of motor vehicles caught without authorization would be made to face the full wrath of the law even as such spy number plates will be retrieved.
“The Command wishes to also state that issuance of tinted glass permit and spy number plates are hereby suspended.”
The statement then urged members of the public to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies as the measures are aimed at strengthening the internal security of the state.
