Super Eagles lose two players after 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in friendly

Coach of the Nigerian national team, Gernot Rohr, will be without the defensive duo of William Troost-Ekong and Jamilu Collins, when they face Cameroon again on Tuesday, June 8.

Both players have been ruled out, after suffering injuries during the 1-0 defeat to the Indomitable Lions at the Wiener Neustadt Stadion.

Ekong was taken off in the 90th minute, with what looked like a hamstring pull.

The Watford centre back had to be helped off the pitch by medical staff.

He was replaced by Galatasaray defender Valentine Ozornwafor, who made his Super Eagles debut.

Collins finished the game, but it has since emerged he picked up a knock in the game.

Nigeria came into these matches on the back of withdrawls, due to the absence of six players. Key starters Victor Osimhen, Joe Aribo, Samuel Chukwueze and defenders, Leon Balogun, Ola Aina and Kevin Akpoguma all dropped out due to injuries.
