TOPIC: The Wise Queen [Open Heaven for Teens 8 March 2022]

MEMORISE: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7

READ: James 1:5-6

  1. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
  2. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 12:1-44; Deuteronomy 5-7

MESSAGE:

Wisdom is a very rare gift that only a few operate in even though the Bible says its the most important thing to have. Why then is foolishness gaining grounds in our society? People don’t ask for wisdom while some others deliberately ignore it.

Having being trained by her uncle – a man full of wisdom, Esther became an embodiment of wisdom. When she needed a favour from the king, she invited him to a banquet but didn’t make her request the first time. She was wise enough to give the king a special treat the second time and she hit the jackpot! The king was so happy that he promised her half of his kingdom (Esther 7:1-10 ).

As a young girl or boy, you need wisdom in everything you do. You need wisdom to answer questions correctly in examinations. You need it to answer everyone accordingly. For instance, as a girl, its not everyone who shows a romantic interest in you that you would shout at; you need to preach to some, politely turn some down and run away from some. Ask God to endow you with wisdom today.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please fill me with Your wisdom.

HYMN: I Need Thee Every Hour

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine
    Can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Ev’ry hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Saviour,
I come to Thee.

  1. I need Thee every hour,
    Stay Thou nearby;
    Temptations lose their power
    When Thou art nigh.
  2. I need Thee every hour,
    In joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide,
    Or life is vain.
  3. I need Thee every hour,
    Teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises
    In me fulfil.
  4. I need Thee every hour,
    Most Holy one;
    Oh, make me Thine indeed,
    Thou blessed Son!
