MEMORISE: Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14

READ: Proverbs 19:20-21

  1. Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
  2. There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ezekiel 10-12, Hebrews 11:1-40

MESSAGE:

Counselling is very important in the life of every believer especially young people. The quality of decisions you make will be determined by the strength of advice received and acted upon. This is why counselling is required before crucial decisions are made in relation to your course of study, career path and choice of a life partner.

Good counsel is the secret of successful people because no man is an island. The quality of the advice you receive is a function of the experience and training of your adviser. The Bible discourages God’s children from receiving counsels from unbelievers who don’t base their conclusions on the word of God. For instance, a friend who tells you to leave the Bible and face reality may be encouraging you to make sinful decisions as long as its in your favour. However, the best Counsellor is Jesus. When you are confused and in need of advice, just talk to Him, He will point you in the right direction.

ACTION POINT:

Cut yourself off from ungodly counsels and meditate on Gods word to achieve true success.

HYMN: I Can Hear My Saviour Calling

  1. I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
I can hear my Savior calling,
“Take thy cross and follow, follow Me.

CHORUS
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
Where He leads me I will follow,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.

  1. I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him through the garden,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  2. I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him through the judgment,
I’ll go with Him, with Him all the way.
  3. He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
He will give me grace and glory,
And go with me, with me all the way.
