Mbappe reveals why he snubbed Real Madrid move

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, has revealed that he turned down a move to Real Madrid in 2014.

According to the France international, his parents wanted him to have his football education in France.

Mbappe chose to leave Monaco for another Ligue 1 side PSG in 2017, despite interest from Spain.

The forward had even taken a trip to Santiago Bernabeu, meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo and the then manager, Zinedine Zidane, but he preferred to remain in his homeland.

Explaining why he turned down Real, Mbappe has told L’Obs: “My parents wanted me to start my career in France, to be educated in France.

“To play football, but also to continue my education. To go to Spain, even if it was with Zidane, it was another country, another culture.”
