In the previous episode of our daily bible study, we discussed the topic that says; give your child home education. In that very episode, we saw that in the book of exodus, chapter 13 verse 14, God spoke to Moses to speak to the Israelites saying; in the days to come, when your son asks you, what does this mean? Say to him, with a mighty hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt.

From here, we learned that it is our duty to teach our children at home. It is required of parents to make out time to teach their children.

When your child asks you about his or her ancestry, you are expected to explain to them in details, and if you yourself do not know, then endeavor to know, so you can teach your kids.

Children need more than formal education; they need to be educated by their parents also. If you are the busy type that does not spend time with your kids, it is time to start making adjustments. Remember; your kids are your greatest assets. If you have not watched the video of the previous daily bible nugget that discusses this moral lesson from the bible, you can search for it in the playlist.

In today’s episode of our daily bible nugget, we will discuss the topic that says; learn to show gratitude.

After God had freed the Israelites from Egypt, He commanded Moses to tell the Israelites that, when they enter the promised land and settled, they should consecrate for the Lord every male firstborn of both man and animal. This is in remembrance and in appreciation for what the Lord did for the Israelites in Egypt.

God killed every firstborn male child of the Egyptians and spared the Israelites, because, Pharaoh challenged Him. God asked Pharaoh to let the Israelites go, but pharaoh refused, hence, God punished Pharaoh and the Egyptians.

In the night of the Passover, the angel of death passed through the land Of Egypt, with the task to kill every firstborn male child in Egypt, that night, every firstborn male child of the Egyptians was killed, including animals, but the children of Israel were spared.

For this, God demanded that the Israelites show appreciation and gratitude, and to keep doing so throughout their generations.

Therefore, anytime someone does anything for you, no matter how small it is, try to show appreciation, and make them know that you are grateful. If you show appreciation and gratitude, you are likely to get more favor and blessings.

When you pray, always remember to thank God immensely for the things He had done for you. Do not be an ingrate. Learn to always show appreciation for a good gesture did to you, and you will live to be favored the more. May God help us to cultivate the habit of showing gratitude and not being ingrates. Amen.
