Audio: Sonia Praise – What Shall I Render

Born in the early 80’s and like every other child of promise, Sonia Praise arrived with a special gift and at a very tender age she knew she was going to be a vessel of worship and praise to the One who made her. Even after she had to drop out of school after GCE due to lack of finance to cater for her tertiary educational pursuit, her gift drove her to start writing songs by 2005. While she kept working and perfecting her gift of writing and singing, it took almost 10 years before she could start recording which she did with some members of her church. Influenced by Apostle Kelvin due to his spirit of worship, she is now set to thread her path and take the Gospel to the ends of the world through her music. A passionate worshipper, her vision is to glorify the name of God and to impact the lives of many through the spirit of God in her music. She is set to release her debut single; What Shall I Render and it is song drenched in thanksgiving and praise.

What Shall I Render is an Afro Praise song with heavy percussions and Central Africa-inspired strings. There is no mistaken the African influence in the song from the Spanish-based Gospel music minister and Sonia Praise to her credit delivers like a seasoned veteran. With the opening lyrics “I will lift my hands, I will lift up my voice, I shout of your praise Jehovah…” ushering in her voice to our consciousness she maintains the same energy throughout the song that no doubt has all the ingredients to make you jump to your feet and give the Lord some heavy dance moves.

About the song, Sonia Praise says “I received the lyrics to What Shall I Render in my dreams and I made a covenant in my heart with the Lord concerning an urgent need. I told Him I will use this song to testify of His deeds if He granted me the need and glory to God, it came to pass”. Like every lyric in the song points to, What Shall I Render is a praise anthem dedicated to God and Him alone.

The song was written by Sonia Praise while production credit goes to Joeydadifi for Sunrize Records.
